Half Marathon

Alright kids, It's time to get serious.

I have registered for the Hibiscus Half Marathon being held on May 26 (now it's official!) It is a benefit for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. To say I'm excited about this would be an understatement!

Completing a half marathon is on my bucket list and I'm so excited to be so close to crossing it off. I have been researching several different training methods to gather some input and come up with my own. I will be posting weekly about my progress and I hope to incorporate some recipes and vlogs as well (like I said, I'm hoping).

Runners: Do you have a specific training regimen for races? Do you have any tips for a first time half marathoner? I'd love to get any info I can - I really want to do well :)

How far are you training? My first half, I trained up to 10 miles, then let the adrenaline get me the rest. The second half, I ran further during training, and I think that helped me cut almost 10 minutes from my total time.
I'm toying with wearing a hydration belt this half. I haven't before, but I don't like having to deal with the crowds at water stops. Though, I'm not sure this will be a crowded race.

How fun!! yeah, I just did a mud run this past weekend and I think that is my limit haha. :)
