Fight For What You Want

Aloha dears!

My goodness what a busy week I've had. I am SO sorry about the absent posts. I have not had internet in my hotel room and just now got the opportunity to take some down time and hang out in the lobby to post. We check out at noon today and I have a lot of packing to do. I am exhausted.

I came back to my little home on the web to see well over 800 followers! HOLY COW! Welcome new readers and I'm so sorry you have not had any content since joining me to read. I promise I will get back into the swing the of things. For now however, I need to talk with you about my pageant weekend here in Kauai.

Unfortunately it did not go the way I had envisioned it, but I did walk away with the Lifestyle and Fitness Award as well as $2,000 in scholarship to Argosy University here in Hawaii. I am so excited to kick start the next step in a career path and cannot tell you enough how even more excited I am to prove my wellness and dedication by winning the Lifestyle and Fitness Award. My platform is Sweat Pink - Healthy is a Lifestyle, and it showed!

Even though I am very sad to not have the opportunity to represent my favorite island at Miss Hawaii in June, I have one more try on Friday on my home island of Oahu. I am already prepared, I have the wardrobe and I will be pouring my heart and soul out on stage. I am not one of those contestants that can win on a dime, I have to work, and very hard to get what I want and I will continue to work towards my dream for these next few days. I have noticed the improvement I have made since competing 5 years ago, and I will continue to improve. It can only go up from here and thanks to all of your generous donations, I am already qualified with my Children's Miracle Network donation to compete in a Sweeper pageant on Friday (Which is my mom's birthday! Woohoo).

I had a such a fun weekend. I have made some new friends here on Kauai and am so happy to have them in my circle! We had the pleasure of staying at the Kauai Beach Resort which is an Aqua Resort thanks to my friend Ian. It was amazing. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel, and I'm pretty sure I have not stayed in a hotel this nice before. It was fun to be able to relax, look out our lanai and see the beautiful ocean, as well as the three pools. Truly paradise, and I can't express how much I enjoy being on this island. It truly is the gem of Hawaii (in my opinion).

Now on to preparing for this Friday. It literally is my last shot, as I will be turning 24 on Sunday the 17th and will be officially aged out of the Miss America System. It is my dream to compete for that job and I will work harder than ever these next few days. I appreciate your continued support and positive thoughts and prayers and if you can find time in your days and your hearts to keep them coming my way, I will be eternally grateful.

One more thing, even though he may not read this, I want to express my enormous gratitude to my one and only Mike. He is simply amazing; such love and support for all of my dreams. He continues to lift me up and keeps me going when I feel defeated. I really think I have found my true partner in life and I am so incredibly blessed and thankful to have him by my side. Thanks love - you are truly a keeper!!

And don't worry pictures are coming :)

Congrats to Miss Kauai 2013
