I'm getting more and more excited for Miss Kauai/Miss Garden Isle coming up! It's literally a week and a half away - EEEEE!
So I am checking in to give y'all the deets thus far on my preparation! I've been working with my good friend Inga on my interview. That girl knows what she's doing. Interview has always been my weakest phase, and I'm finally starting to feel confident about it. She's really helped me see the abilities I have when it comes to interview. I have so much going for me - I just need to stay positive and aware that I can do it! No more mental blocks.
I've showed a select few of you my evening gown, it should be here Friday!! I'm so excited about it, it's going to be absolutely beautiful. I will need to get it tailored but when it arrives I'll give everyone a sneak peek :) For now, I'll leave you with - it's a Mac Duggal (if that means anything to any of you lol)
My swimsuit is all ready to go. That will be my easiest phase. I've never had an issue with swimsuit, I actually am excited to get on stage and show off my fitness, especially since it ties into my platform. I will be wearing a sassy, yet classy two piece. I'm so ready to rock that part of the competition. :)
I have half of my interview outfit ready. Going for a classy, trendy, professional look. When all is complete I'll be giving a sneak peek for that as well. I'll tell ya one thing, I'm trying to bring back an old style. I think it will help set me apart and make the judges remember me, after all, it is the first time they see me in competition!
Talent - this part I am having a tad bit of trouble with. I cannot seem to find the perfect song to sing. I have a few in mind that I know I can rock, but I haven't had the space or time to practice it yet and am on the fence about it. I have an outfit on the way, but it'll depend on the song I sing if I will wear it or not. Keep your fingers crossed and if you have any suggestions please send them my way! :)
Stay tuned for more info on my journey to the crown! Want to help me out? I have two different options for you!
- Miss America works closely with Children's Miracle Network. As a hopeful, I am set out to help raise money for this organization. I only have TWO more days to collect and all proceeds I raise get sent back to Kapiolani Medical Center right here in Hawaii! Want to donate? Visit my page HERE and give as much as your heart desires! Anything helps. Together, we can make miracles happen!
- Being involved in pageants can become pretty pricey. While it is my decision to venture into this world, as being a supporter, you can help me turn my dreams into a reality! Becoming a sponsor is the easiest way to show your support and anything helps. I have set up a special promo code with my ads, and all proceeds will go towards my expenses for preparing and competing in Miss Kauai/Miss Garden Isle. Get 10% off ANY ad size now until March 9th with promo code "MAO" to become a sponsor. I will acknowledge everyone who has helped me in my journey. I can not tell you enough how blessed and grateful I am for all of your support throughout this process!
In the meantime, I'm getting my hair done today! Whoohoo getting it darkened a little more. And a much needed cut. I love getting my hair done, it's a nice pampering time for me to relax :)
Time for me to introduce one of my lovely sponsors these past couple of months!
Hi, lovely One Haole Girl readers! I'm Mia and I blog at The Chronicles of Chaos! No, it's not a comic book, although sometimes I like to pretend I'm Super Woman! With 2 boys (ages 4 and 2), a full-time job, a crazy dog, AND a blog, chaos definitely reigns supreme in my life. I love hot wings, Coke (not Pepsi!), Justin Bieber (what?!), and Target (duh!). I hope you stop by sometime and say hi, I love meeting new people!
Stop by Mia's blog and say hello for me! She's awesome :)
Other fun things happening in blog world!
